BRITTANY ORTEGA-WALKER | MA, LMHC, LPC, NCC
Hi I’m Brittany,
I am so glad you are taking this step of courage to reach out for support. It is not easy to ask for help or admit that you don't have it all together. I would be honored to come alongside you in this difficult time to move toward hope and peace.
My counseling approach is relational at its core: research continually shows that a trusting therapeutic relationship is the most healing, beneficial element of therapy. My first priority is for you to feel safe, heard, and valued in our sessions. I use a mix of interventions borrowing from attachment theory, cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, dialectical behavior therapy, and art therapy, to support healing from anxiety, depression, trauma, and grief.
I have been working in the mental health field since 2019, and have experience counseling children, adolescents, young adults, families, and individual adults. I have a particular heart for working with high school and college-age individuals, as these are important times of change, growth, and formation. I received my Masters in Art Therapy and Counseling from Lewis & Clark College, and my BA in Psychology from University of Puget Sound. I am licensed as a professional counselor in Oregon and Washington.
A little about me: I am a huge bird nerd and can often be found staring into trees, searching for birds. I also love hiking and being out in nature, and am always trying to drag my husband with me on a new adventure.
