LARA LUNSFORD | MA, Professional Counselor Associate
Hi, I’m Lara!
Relationships—whether with ourselves, others, or the world—are at the heart of our well-being. When we feel stuck, disconnected, overwhelmed, or lost, counseling can be a powerful tool for healing, growth, and greater self-awareness. Life can be painful or confusing, and feeling alone in difficult situations can amplify our distress. My goal is to come alongside individuals and couples to navigate life’s challenges with clarity and confidence, fostering deeper connections and emotional resilience. I am passionate about providing the space and tools needed to help people thrive and to empower clients to move forward with purpose.
My approach integrates various evidence-based theories and techniques, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, mindfulness, and attachment theory. By honoring client’s experiences and tailoring treatment to each person’s unique needs, I create a safe space for self-discovery, healing, and meaningful change. Whether you are experiencing symptoms of anxiety, depression, trauma, or stressful life situations, I am here to help without judgement.
Taking the step to seek support takes courage. I would love the opportunity to discuss how I could join you in working towards your goals and moving forward with purpose. I earned a BA in Biblical Studies from Azusa Pacific University and a MA in Marriage, Couple, and Family Counseling from George Fox University. I am a Professional Counselor Associate in Oregon (R11122). I am currently supervised by Dr. Bart Fowler, M.A. Psy.D., a licensed psychologist in Washington (PY60153263) and in Oregon (1297). I abide by Oregon state law and ethics pertaining to counselors and the American Counseling Association code of ethics.
I am currently accepting clients Wednesdays through Fridays, in-person at the Charis Portland location and virtually via teletherapy.
